Doing things the same way and expecting a different result is MADNESS. – unknown
The only way to get your desired result from your social media effort is to create a social media strategy for your business.
Here’s how to create a SOLID social media strategy for your business
- Step1: Define your goals.
Defining your goal(s) is the most important step in the strategy creation process. You have to define SMART goals, and by SMART, I mean Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.
- Step2: Create a plan.
Creating a plan means you identify the steps and actions to be taken to achieve your goals. These actions may include; collaboration with influencers, running sponsored ads/campaigns, e.t.c.
Every unique goal must have a plan to make it a reality.
- Step3: Define your target audience.
In defining your target audience, you need to know their demographics (age, sex, interest), location, language, culture, e.t.c.
- Step4: Identify Key pain points.
Identify the problems of your target audience. Know the emotional satisfaction or benefit your target audience gets when they subscribe to your solution.
- Step5: Create a content plan.
Creating a content plan for your business is an important step. It involves creating different content with different CTA that appeals to the customer at the STDC stages of the customer journey.
- Step6: Choose your channels.
Now, it’s time to choose your preferred channel, either Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, youtube e.t.c (Please don’t jump the gun! Steps 1 to 5 will help you decide the best channel for your business.)
- Step7: Know your competition.
Knowing your competition and “spying on them” can help you quickly see what they’re doing right or wrong and give you that winning edge your business needs to thrive. There are ways to spy on your competition. Ask me in the comment section.
- Step8: Analyse and reevaluate.
Change is constant! and your social media strategy should be adaptable. Analyze, reevaluate and be willing to optimize your social media strategy. Your competition is doing this.
- Step9: Plan for consistency.
Decide (before your implementation phase) to be consistent with your efforts. You will NEVER get your desired result (long term) without CONSISTENCY.
